Newly crowned Overall Winner of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest (YDC) 2014 Nelson Leung’s playful menswear designs have some serious potential. Titled Journey Walker, Nelson’s winning collection took elements from classic video games and turned them into a fun office wear collection that comprises blazers, jackets and knitwear sweaters. His Pacman- and Mario Brothers-like graphics poked fun at workplace dynamics and appealed to the young and young-at-heart. However, a good concept alone would not be enough to win this fiercely competitive contest.
